In honor of its founding history, Los Angeles Southwest College is committed to providing a student-centered and equitable learning environment designed to empower a diverse student population and the surrounding community to achieve their academic and career goals by:

  • attaining certificates and associate degrees leading to transfer and workforce preparation
  • eliminating systemic racism and exclusion
  • becoming a model educational institution for the success of students of color

Los Angeles Community College District’s Board of Trustees gave final approval to the Mission Statement. It had previously been approved by LASC’s Strategic Planning Committee, Academic Senate and College Council.

Prayer Requests:
1) Jesus said in Luke 10.2 “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
     Therefore Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into
     His harvest.”
2) Pray for a student awakening within our university campuses.
3) Pray that the Christian students will not put God on the shelf during the
    long summer break.
4) Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring conviction of “sin, righteousness and
     judgment” (Jn 16.8).
5) Pray that college students will wake up to their need for God over material
    blessings, personal ambition, and worldly success.
6) Pray that the Christians on campus will have boldness and wisdom in their
    witness for Christ.
